Your Gift brings Peace of Mind | Where does my gift go to? | The Facts on St John Ambulance Australia (NSW)

Your Gift brings Peace of Mind

Giving to St John Ambulance Australia (NSW), you have the chance to ensure the peace of mind our presence provides in your community continues to grow in coverage and excellence.

Have you ever…

Stood along the roadside of an Anzac Day march, attended a major sporting event or made your way into Sydney Harbour for New Years Eve?

Our professionally equipped St John volunteers were there to provide emergency care just in case you needed us.

Have you ever…

Had a member of your family attend a music or religious festival or run in a sporting event and felt concern for their well-being in the event of an accident or sickness?

We were there because our concern for pilgrims of all sorts is part of our rich history and shapes our continual passion to minister compassion for persons in sickness, distress, suffering or danger.

Where does my gift go to?

As you know St John Ambulance Australia (NSW) has a commercial arm to fund significant aspects of our charitable work. However to expand and support the growing demand for the services of our volunteers we also seek donations from the public.

From a donor point of view, one of other benefits of our commercial arm is that you can be sure that your gift goes to the work of our volunteers. The simple reason for this is that our commercial income meets the daily administration costs of our organisation and so provides the infrastructure for our fundraising efforts.

In NSW alone, each year St John:

  • Supports and trains around 3,000 first aid volunteers
  • Treats more than 36,000 casualties
  • Provides over 400,000 hours of voluntary training and first aid services
  • Spends in excess of 90,000 refreshing volunteer first aid and advanced life support skills
  • Supports about 500 volunteers who are actively involved with early literacy and immunisation community programs, providing 11,000 voluntary hours
