We were there.
The situation
What began as a regular Saturday was to be the worst bushfire disaster that Australia has ever seen. Now known as Black Saturday, the Victorian Bushfires will be etched into our history for its power of destruction that shattered an area of over a million acres and took the precious lives of 210 people.
The response
Hundreds of St John (NSW) volunteers responded to the need to support their Victorian colleagues and were on call, ready to go. Within hours, the first group were on their way. In total, 85 volunteers were deployed to assist the 200 St John (VIC) volunteers that were already on site providing first aid for those in need.
Please donate. Support a volunteer to be ready to assist someone in case of an emergency.
