On Sunday March 14 2010, St John (NSW) held its first Walk&Talk, an event dedicated to celebrating the work St John does in the community.
From first aid to early literacy and immunisation, our people give up their time willingly and regularly to provide a service they believe in.
The Walk&Talk is about sharing with others this belief in St John and the difference we make in the lives of others.
The ‘walk’ is a walkathon open to our volunteers, staff, customers, suppliers and sponsors who work closely with us, and will be held at Parramatta Park.
The ‘talk’ is about encouraging our volunteers to share with others the motivations that drive their willingness to give so freely of themselves to the community through our organisation.
In turn, we are asking for others to show their support by sponsoring walkers on the day. The proceeds will go towards the purchase of a fully equipped communication bus, to assist co-ordination of our first aid activities in major events and community emergencies around the state.
