Work Cover NSW — New Recertification Regulations

Work Cover NSW has changed regulations relating to recertification of Work Cover accredited Senior First Aid & Occupational First Aid certificates.

The regulations require recertification prior to the expiry date of accredited certificates.

Changes will take effect from March through to May 2003. All students with certificates that expire after May 2003 will be required to complete recertification training prior to their expiry date to maintain WorkCover accreditation.

Quote from the New regulations:

"Prior to the expiry date of an Approved First Aid Certificate, the First Aid Course may be re-certified after a successful completion of a First Aid Revision Course. It is the responsibility of Providers with Workcover Approved First Aid courses to determine eligibility in specific circumstances (i.e. where application for course attendance is made for example, 1 or 2 weeks after the expiry date)."

 

Quote from the Old regulations:

"Within 3 months of the expiry date of an approved First Aid Certificate the First Aid Course may be re-certified after the successful completion of a First Aid Revision Course."
