Immunisation Support Program

St John runs Immunisation Support Program courses for people who wish to give back to the community by assisting the NSW Health Department when they visit secondary schools.

All training for this program is done via correspondence.

Course Costs

The Immunisation Support Program Course is free.

Immunisation Program

On completion of the Immunisation Support Program Course, participants will be provided with a schedule of school visits throughout the year, and given the opportunity to nominate which schools they wish to attend.

Two Volunteer Support Meetings are held each year for Community Care volunteers. These are organised by Community Care trainers, and consist of a training module to increase their understanding of the immunisation process and a feedback session.

Community Care staff in Burwood are also available to offer ongoing support and assistance to volunteers. Attending these Volunteer Support Meetings is a good opportunity to share experiences and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the program.
