Immunisation Program
St John runs Immunisation Program courses for people who wish to give back to the community by assisting the NSW Health Department when they visit secondary schools.
The course runs for 4 hours at locations across Sydney (to expand across NSW at a later date).
Course Costs The Immunisation Program Course is free.
Immunisation Program On completion of the Immunisation Program Course, participants will be shown a schedule of the school visits throughout the year, and given the opportunity to nominate which schools they wish to attend.
Two volunteer support meetings are held each year for Community Care volunteers. These are organised by Community Care trainers, and consist of a training module to increase their understanding of the immunisation process and a feedback session. Community Care staff in Burwood are also available to offer ongoing support and assistance to volunteers. Attending these Volunteer Support Meetings is a good opportunity to share experiences and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Program.
