Automated External Defibrillation

Course description

This course equips individuals, who have access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), with the skills necessary to use it as part of a resuscitation attempt.

Course duration

Four hours

Content

• management of an unconscious casualty
• resuscitation techniques including CPR
• safe use of an automated external defibrillator
• test and maintenance of machine
• charge and change battery

Prerequisites

Minimum age for participants is 14 years.

Classes

Conducted regularly at Burwood, branch offices or at your place of work on request.

Certificate validity

One year
