Preliminary First Aid (First Aid for Juniors)
Course description This course is designed to meet the first aid training needs of participants over the age of ten years who, because of age requirements, may be ineligible to attend a Senior First Aid or Emergency First Aid program.
Course duration One (1) days (8 hours). The duration may be delivered over shorter sessions in order to fit school timetables.
Content Introduction to first aid, management of the unconscious breathing casualty, bleeding, shock, bites, stings, asthma, choking, fitting and the management of a casualty who is not breathing *.
* Restricted to fundamental management. CPR is not usually taught as part of this program.
Prerequisites Minimum age for participants is 10 years.
Materials provided Emergency Firs t Aid: A Quick Guide booklet.
Classes Conducted on request for groups.
Certificate validity Three (3) years.
