First Aid Volunteers on Duty

St John is part of a worldwide organisation.

First Aiders volunteer their time to provide First Aid services at community, sporting and cultural events. These events include New Years Eve and Australia Day celebrations, football games and ANZAC Day services.

St John's First Aid volunteers are professional medical officers and highly-trained First Aiders dedicated to making our community a safer place. There are both Adult and Junior/Cadet programs available, as well as a range of roles and training.

In NSW alone, each year St John:

  • Supports and trains around 3,000 first aid volunteers
  • Treats more than 36,000 casualties
  • Supports 107 divisions
  • Provides over 400,000 hours of voluntary training and first aid services
  • Spends in excess of 90,000 refreshing volunteer first aid and advanced life support skills
