Volunteers

St John has a range of options to become involved in helping your community and will assist you in developing some great skills that you can take with you, no matter where you go.

The most recognised are our 3,600 First Aid Services volunteers providing almost 300,000 hours of first aid and health services each year in NSW. They treat approximately 30,000 casualties each year and spend more than 100,000 hours refreshing their training and advancing their first aid skills.

Many of these first aid service volunteers are on duty at large events including the Big Day Out, New Years Eve celebrations, the Royal Easter Show and the City 2 Surf. They are also present at many of the local sporting, school and community events.

St John also has 630 volunteers actively involved in early literacy and immunisation support programs in the community. These activities by providing opportunities for the best start in our children’s formative years.

St John volunteer programs assist volunteers by providing ongoing training and support.
