About us

At St John, we’re passionate about saving lives through first aid.

Our mission is to have at least one person educated, equipped and prepared to provide first aid in every home, workplace and public gathering.

  • Every year we teach thousands of people how to save a life, including free first aid training to primary school children.
  • We provide first aid in local communities, keeping people safe at small gatherings and large scale events.
  • We equip individuals, families and workplaces with high quality first aid kits and equipment.
  • We’re also there in the face of disaster, working alongside emergency services organisations in times of need.

We have a rich history that dates back over 900 years.

Our historical roots date back to 11th century Jerusalem.

We began as a safety home to provide care and shelter to pilgrims and crusaders making a long and dangerous journey into Jerusalem.

The St John movement was so powerful at the time, that formed a new religious and military order, known as the Knights Hospitallers. Hundreds of men and women joined to help and care for anyone, regardless of race or faith.

We’ve been established as a not for profit organisation in Australia, providing trusted first aid services for over 130 years.
